Adventure Elachbutting Elachbutting Rock is a massive granite outcrop, a very popular camping spot for 4x4 wheel clubs and for locals. It has a spectacular colourful wave similar to Hyden’s Wave Rock with the added beauty of ‘Monty’s Pass’, a 30m tunnel caused by a rock slide. An echoing cave similar to an amphitheatre is close by. The 6km track around the rock with its dense trees and shrubs hide many interesting species of flora. The east side is renowned for its masses of Donkey Orchids at the base to the rock. Read More

Hood-Penn Museum

The museum is open Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 4.30 pm. The museum is open on Saturday's and Sunday's from 10am to 12pm

Between Monday and Friday entry to the Hood-Penn Museum is via the shire office and lockers are available in the Shire Office for secure storage of handbags.

On the weekends visitors enter the Hood-Penn Museum directly. Please note that nothing larger than a camera or a wallet can be taken into the museum.

Please also note that the museum building does get very cold, so if you are visiting in winter, please bring a thick jacket with you.
