Free MobileMuster reply paid recycling satchels can be picked up at the Shire of Westonia's Offices, allowing you to send your mobile phone and accessories off for recycling free of charge.

Community members can pick up a MobileMuster reply paid recycling satchel anytime from the reception area of the Shire of Westonia's offices.

MobileMuster is the mobile phone industry’s official product stewardship program. Its mission is to keep old mobile phones, batteries, chargers and accessories out of landfill by recycling them in a safe, secure and ethical way.

This free recycling service is a not for profit program, owned and funded by the majority of mobile handset manufacturers and all network carriers.

The service aims to:

  • keep old mobile phones, batteries and accessories out of landfill,
  • recycle them to the highest environmental standards, and
  • maximize the percentage of materials recovered so they can be reused therefore substituting new raw materials

The metals and plastics in mobile phones, batteries, chargers and accessories are made into new products like fence posts, stainless steel and jewellery.
